At the current time (March 2006) there have been five generations of the iPod. The appeal is obvious people of all ages can transfer thousands of tracks to this one device and create playlists so they can listern for countless hours whilst on the way to work or school or when working out at the gym. The latest players come with colour screens and allow for video clips to be played back on the players.
The early versions were more heavy and larger than the current versions. In later versions the navigation wheel was introducded to make navigating around the device easier than ever. Year on year sales of the iPod have increased in large amounts.
They havent been without problems or occasional bad press, the main story was when the batteries in some models failed to hold more than a hours charge. Countless users turned to Apple for help but were told if the product was out of warranty they faced a hefty bill for a replacement battrey. In the end people power one and with Apple admitting there was a problem in some cases made good on the problems incurred and made changes to stop this from happening in future.
