The iPod shuffle from Apple has been designed to allow everyone to afford an MP3 player. Although the capacity is alot smaller than the other products, this provides users with a very affordable product which can store 120 songs on the 512MB or 240 on the 1GB version.
The shuffles are designed in a way to make sure you know its from Apple, but has some main differences such as no screen to display track information or to navigate. Instead the user interface is kept to a minimum with just a couple of buttons and slide siwtches to operate the device. The memory used in this device is flash memory, this is similar to the types used in the many USB memory sticks which have been growing in popularity over the last few years. There are a number of advantages for this type of memory and device, the main oine being that as there are no moving parts the device can take far more punishment than a device with a hard drive ever could.
